Well – it depends on how many are coming from the grooms side and what accommodation there is in the bride’s area – its no use inviting a load of people to a wedding where they can’t get accommodation. In your question you say there are no hotels or motels in the area so where do you propose the grooms friends and family stay??? I’d say it was a no brainer.

A destination wedding might be a good solution here. Wherever the bride and groom want to honeymoon, have the wedding there. That way neither side is being favored as far as travel goes, there will certainly be accomodations available, and all the guests that wish to attend will be able to enjoy a nice vacation.

The Bride and Groom should find a place that they want this special day to be and fits their budget. It is their wedding.
Then, make room in the Budget to hire a van to transport those guests who will be the furthest to and from their accommodations or homes.
    Hope this helps.

People will come. My son had his wedding in our home town for the same reasons. It was about 2 hours away from most and lots of people came. Have a hotel set up with a block of rooms and a good rate, this will help.

I guess in a situation like that it is going to boil down to who is paying for the wedding. Bride’s family or the groom’s family. And whoever, is paying that is were it will be.

  6. JUAN FRAN$$$ says:

have the wedding in the brides area, the grooms family can use mapquest or gps.

How about meeting halfway between the 2 places? My sister did that with her sons wedding. It was even better because when they forgot something…it wasn’t as far to travel.

Why not meet in the middle to accommodate everyone

compromise you both need to learn that word cause a good marriage is nothing without it. find somewhere in between.
